Happy birthday Femi…. (Lord, we need You to sustain us…) Peter asked Jesus, ‘Lord if it is truly You, order me to come over…,’ and Jesus answered- Come! Peter’s action was based, influenced and powered by Jesus Word and Command. Now that’s faith in action- taking God at His Word and acting upon it….even when ongoing/present situations and/or circumstances suggests otherwise. Peter not only walked on water, in truth, he walked on the ever assuring and never failing spoken Word of God… which was the source of his faith. At a point however, his focus shifted from Christ and the Spoken Word he personally asked for…(the Word that was the foundation of his initial faith and boldness… ‘For faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God’)…, it shifted to the stormy waves competing for his attention at the expense of God’s Presence and Word…., he succumbed to his natural senses/environmental events/happenings and his faith, boldness and resolve was inevitably replaced with doubt and fear (there is no vacuum concerning things of the spirit) and he started sinking! But for Christ reaching out and holding him when he cried out, he may have obeyed natural laws and gone under-water. My prayer for myself and my wonderful friends on FB on this birth anniversary of mine is that God should prevent our physical and spiritual senses from observing or paying attention to all that will shift our gaze and focus from Him and His spoken Word… concerning our lives and destiny so that our faith can continually be sustained… and we can be who God wants us to be. Also, like Peter cried out and was rescued, may we be saved and our faith restored in areas where we have sunk or are sinking having allowed ourselves to be distracted from our Lord’s reassured love and confidence. God bless & keep us all in these end-times and from evils that are characterizing our present days on earth. ‘I lie down and sleep, l wake up again for the lord sustains me…’ Thank you Lord Jesus for another new beginning….
