Happy birthday, Mike. I hope you realized the amount of joy you brought to our group of friends. I hope you knew the happiness you brought into my sisters lives. I, too often, think of new years and your last moments. The four of us went through a horrific thing and the three of us who survived love you, for that night alone, tremendously. I know this is a positive day and one that shouldnt be filled with sadness and bad memories but I cant help but play it in my mind tonight. I hope you know now that every moment weve had the opportunity to take a breath since that night we have had unwavering gratitude for you. Most importantly for me I hope you know we never left your side. I hope you felt my hand around yours trying to keep you warm, I hope you felt all of our hands trying to do the best we could, I hope you heard our voices and the voices of our friends once they arrived. I hope you had the knowledge, and peace in knowing, we werent leaving your side for anything. Today everyone will both mourn your loss and celebrate your memory. We will do our best to be comfort for your family and put smiles on their faces. I hope you love the steelers wreath that kels and morg brought to you to celebrate this season. I hope a lot of things for both before and after your passing. More than anything I really hope this birthday is the best one yet and that you wouldnt come back if you had the chance. I hope things are perfect for you and that you are exactly where you want to be.
