Happy birthday this date in 1897 in Camden, to Clifford Baldwin, who moved to Pennsauken in 1923 as a lawyer and became township tax collector, county prosecutor and Camden County Judge before his death in 1946. He was a confidante and aide to NJ governors, founder of the Pennsauken Community Chest, an aircraft observer and adviser to the selective service board during the war, and Vice President of the Camden Trust Company. Considering that he is quoted as saying that the job should seek the man, not the man the job, he was much sought after!
