Happy first day of Spring! Its time to start thinking about spring planting. If youre planning on having a vegetable garden, the Sedgwick County Extension Office has some recommend tasks that can be done in last half of March: -Incorporate compost and amend the soil as needed for nutrient or pH problems. -Test the soil (only if you wont be planting anything until May). -Start tomatoes, peppers and eggplants indoors for planting in late April or early May. -Plan and mark out your garden for planting. -Make plans to install or improve a drip irragation system for the garden. -Plant peas, radishes, spinach, onions, potatoes, lettuces, kale, beets and carrots.
