Happy new Year to all of our Facebook friends and supporters! 2014 was an awesome year for the Johnny Appleseed Parks, but we cant wait to get 2015 off to a fantastic start. We see many exciting things planned for 2015; a really cool bandshell to highlight our Amphitheater, a new park- The Hermon Woodlands, on Wapak Rd., new flush restrooms at the Allen Co. Farm Park and many more programs and volunteer opportunities! To kick off the year and decompress from the holidays, we are offering 2 different hikes tomorrow-Saturday Jan. 3 1. A quiet walk through the woods- at Teddy Bear Park, 9am. 2. A nighttime walk through Kendrick Woods, 6:30pm. Leave your flashlights behind, this a moonlight hike. Its amazing how fast your eyes adjust to the winter night. Bring your hiking stick if you have one.Stay and warm up by the campfire afterwards. Its time to slow down, take a deep breath and re-connect with nature. See you in the parks!
