We discuss……………… As the world ushered into the New Year 2015, religious leaders embarked on ministering with a call to the populace to embrace peace, reconciliation and dedicate the New Year to hard work…… With the current dry season; the northern Uganda populace has been urged to desist from the act of engaging in bush burning because it degrades the environment and threatens the survival of animals, humans and their property and crops. The wide spread act of setting wildfires is being blamed on edible rat hunters and some unscrupulous people………………. In Lamwo; the district leadership has criticized the alleged intimidation of traffic police officers by a section of prominent government officers, politicians who direct the traffic police officers to release their vehicles once involved in traffic offences…………… In Kitgum; community members have decried the numerous concerns of alleged loss of case files that purportedly go missing mysteriously from court. Errant court clerks have been faulted for promoting the vice by conniving with people prone to lose cases by soliciting bribes to deliberately misplace, tear, or pluck off witness statements and evidences from the files. These errant staff are also alleged of tactically changing dates of reporting to court so as to confuse one party from reporting to court such that the particular case is either dismissed or ruled in favor of the other party…………. Kitgum district leadership in October 2014 reached a joint resolution that seeks to ban the sale, importation and possession of sachet gin and crude waragi in the district effective of the 1st January 2015. Three days into the New Year 2015, enforcing and implementing the ban seems not to have commenced. How best can this ban be implemented?..................
