Happy to Have a Home For months this stray dog has been frequenting the front yard of Texis (my Grandmas) house. She has always been extremely timid and though she had warmed up over time through feeding would never let herself be touched and rarely even took her tail from between her legs. Today everything changed. Today a dog catcher stopped in front of the house and tried to catch her while Texi and I happened to be watching. Texi had become quite find of the dog and didnt want to see it gone so I took her out to talk to the dog catcher, who had already buttered her up with some treats. Despite Texis pleas that she was a good dog the catcher said hed have to take her to the pound unless of course Texi wanted to take her in. So we lured her to the back yard and the catcher said we could get her shots and spayed for free. About 10 min. later we came out to check on her and she was a completely different dog! Her attitude had completely changed. If youve ever doubted that dogs can feel, this is the disproof. At least for a couple months until Texi herself has to go to the pound… err, care facility, this dog is happy to have a home.
