Happy to meet some of our Hajj pilgrims at Changi Airport - TopicsExpress

Happy to meet some of our Hajj pilgrims at Changi Airport yesterday before they departed for Saudi Arabia. Our Hajj quota remains at 680. The Saudi Authorities were not able to accede to our request to increase our official quota due to the development works in and around Mecca, especially at the mataf area. We understand the reasons for their decision. They are shouldering the heavy responsibility of ensuring the safety, security and welfare of all Hajj pilgrims from around the world. We will continue to seek the Saudi Authorities’ consideration in increasing our quota. We are hopeful that our requests would be acceded to when development works are completed. I thank the Saudi Ambassador to Singapore, HE Mansour Bin Mohamed Al-Mazmoum and the Saudi Embassy for facilitating the Hajj arrangements for our Singaporean pilgrims. My doa for a safe and successful Hajj (haji mabrur) to all pilgrims.
