Happy witchcraft and occultism day everyone... Have fun embracing and celebrating death... Even though death has died... I, however, will choose to celebrate life abundant for all eternity in the arms of the God Who defeated death... This isnt meant as a judgmental post, but as a testimonial of my own personal convictions... I wont be participating in modernized pagan rituals; not for fun or for pleasure or even in jest... While there are certainly pagan elements to nearly all modern holidays (even Christmas and Easter), Halloween is the only holiday that intentionally glorifies death and the demonic... And you may say, but we just do it for the fun and for the candy... I can definitely think of other ways to have fun and get candy... And if you want your kids to have fun dressing up, why not throw a dress-up or costume party? Why is it so important to participate in this holiday? And why do you feel so defensive right now, reading what I have to say? Again, these are my personal convictions... I cannot - in good conscience - hang ghosts and skeletons and demons throughout my house... And knowing some of the history of traditional Halloween activities, I cant bring myself to participate in them; much less glamorize them to my children... Trick-or-treating from kidnapping; jack-o-lanterns from marking homes for demonic spirits; bobbing for apples from torturing and tormenting captives; and bonfires from wicker men loaded with human sacrifices... Do what thou wilt when it comes to your family... As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord... And find less demonically saturated ways to entertain ourselves...
