Happy you guys came up with this group so we all can chat/vent or help one another.. I am a mom and have 4 awesome kids, we have a blended family and my oldest son has spina bifida.. He uses a motorized wheelchair an has no feeling from the waist down. Our house is not wheelchair ready so life is a little tricky& hes getting so big(13) that lifting him is a challenge. Were trying to get approved for a Hoya lift but finding help or insurance to cover it is difficult. Just getting him out of our house is a task. School is a complete nightmare, waiting for an IEP and a special handicapped accessible bus to come get him to and from school. These are just a few of our struggles, for me to list them all I could write a book.. Some days are really great and some days its like starting from scratch. I just wish life was easier for him & us as a family.. I also travel to Springfield to take care of an aunt who is very ill.. Life is hectic, but this is what family is.. We take care of each other even on our bad days..
