She was born in Uganda on 27 November 1982. She attended Namasagali College in Kamuli District, for her high school education.[1] Performing career Juliana rose to fame in the late 1990s as one half of the all-girl duo I-Jay, with Iryn Namubiru. The groups single titled Vive la Vie was a popular record on Ugandan radio stations at that time. After the duo disbanded, Juliana launched a solo career. Kanyomozi has also collaborated with Bobi Wine on songs such as: Taata Wa Baana Yaani? (Who is the Father of the Kids?) and Maama Mbiire. She worked with Sweet Kid on the track Sirinaayo Mulala (I dont have anyone else) and with Klear Kut on the song All I Wanna Know. At one time, Juliana hosted a morning radio program on Capital FM Radio in Kampala, the capital of Uganda and the largest city in that country. More recently, she has performed with Tanzanian artist, Bushoke on Usiende Mbali (Do not go far). She has won and been nominated for numerous music awards such as HiPipo Music Awards , PAM, Kisima and Befta among others. In 2008, Juliana was voted Ugandas Fashion Icon. Juliana Kanyomozi was the first female musician to win the Pearl of Africa Music Awards (PAM Awards) Artist of the Year accolade.[2] In 2008, she made her film debut in Henry Ssalis Kiwani: The Movie.[3] She still holds the record of having won the Artist of the year award for the two consecutive years 2008 and 2009. In 2009, she was one of the three judges at the Tusker Project Fame, an East African talent show. Also in 2009, she worked on her new album, which includes the single: Kantambule. Julianas father and King Oyos father were biological brothers. She is single. She was the mother of a son, named Keron Raphael Kabugo who passed away on 20 July 2014.
