Hard to know what Jean was doing down by the boardwalk in Rockaway Beach—maybe she wanted to go for a swim to cool off, maybe she wandered too far from home, maybe she was abandoned. At 1 ½ years old, Jean doesn’t understand why he people haven’t come to take her out of that chaotic, stressful place called Brooklyn ACC. She was a good girl and cooperated fully during her medical exam—even enjoyed being petted a bit. She did great on her behavior evaluation, despite her tendency to be a little exuberant, and it seems as though somebody, somewhere had taken good care of her. Jean has many things going for her—she’s young, very pretty, sweet and just ready to go. But Jean’s also got a few things working against her. She’s a black dog and sadly, black dogs get overlooked so quickly. She’s one of dozens of young, healthy, sweet dogs who need to find new homes—its so very easy to overlook one like Jean. But ACC hasn’t forgotten about her and they’ve put her on tomorrow morning’s euthanasia list. Jean has so many years of life left and all she needs is one person who is ready for a great family dog, one person who sees what a beauty she is, one person who will commit to be her person.
