"Hard-working civilian activist Razan Zaitouneh on ISIS harassment in the eastern Ghouta: "These people [jihadists] will fall just like the regime... The regime’s threats, arrests, and assassinations targeting thousands of activists have neither stopped nor hindered the Revolution. Why, then, do some believe that such practices would allow them to impose their vision?" Note these important points she makes: - Damascus area armed rebels include very few foreign fighters thus far. -Civil resistance is especially strong in the eastern Ghouta, and this recent example of fleet-footed solidarity in civil resistance signals hope. - People of the Revolution must work hard to correct "severe mistakes" and negative developments within it. - All who fear the rise of ISIS (the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria") need to do something about it, other than sit around and condemn the Revolution because of it. -How the Revolution in eastern Ghouta, as gateway to Damascus, handles the presence of foreign jihadists can create a new and more successful model for resisting them than Raqqa and Azaz have so far been able to do. -The jihadits embody the same kind of police state repression that characterizes the regime, which is what the Revolution rose against. -Love and hope and solidarity are still alive in this Syrian Revolution."
