Hark the herald angels sing... This great piece of art was created by Disney artist Hank Porter in 1938. The art was executed in pen and ink and features many techniques including scratch board and cross-hatching. Porter honed his illustration skills at his own commercial art gallery and he studied under famed illustrators Philip Lyford and Franklin Booth before being hired to work at Disneys in 1936.Walt Disney once referred to Porter as a one man art department and its easy to see why. I cant even imagine how long Porter spent creating this illustration as the detail is amazing and endless. Enjoy this beautiful piece of art.
