Harley Fuller Summer League- Round 5 Special Thanks to our staff tonight Nathaniel Schwartz, Danny Reidell, Dan Reidell, Jimmy Sheldon, Devin Boyle, and Kyle Decker. Delorenzo Law Firm vs. Mayor Dayton King In a moderately competitive game 1, Nate Sweetman (17)and Mitch Vdoviak (18) led a tough Delorenzo team to a big victory in round 5. Scott Hale battled on the glass for Delo, contributing 14 points of his own as he sunk 4 three pointers (2 in each half). On the losing side, MDK was led by Sa Smith with a game high 23 points including 5 three pointers and an array of difficult finishes around the rim with both hands. John Lee Perry continued his consistent play by scoring 16 points. Defense continues to be a struggle for MDK, but they continue to improve each week. LiveLighting vs. Nethaway Motor Car Livelighiting took on a pesky Nethaway team in game 2 of the night. Harley Fuller started off the scoring for the game and continued on scoring 41 points on the night. His backcourt mate, former Siena Grad, Michael Beers contributed 18 points with 4 threes and some difficult shots from midrange. On the losing side, Kalvin Toot Perry contributed 25 points with 7 three pointers as he torched the Live Lighting zone all night long. Richie Sanchez added 14 and Bar Dukes Sr contributed 15 but came up just alittle short. Nethaway will be a nightmare matchup for a high seed as playoffs quickly approach. Browns Ford vs. Love City Church In game 3 of the night, an undefeated Love City team came into the game with loads of confidence after a nice win over defending champ LiveLighting Monday night. The balanced scoring and team defense of Love City seemed to overwhelm a young Browns Ford team right from the opening tip, as Love City took the opening tip and led from start to finish. Christian Bills had a game high 27 points for a Love City team that had 4 players in Double figures including 15 from Asa Barnhill, 11 from Tyran Cox, and 10 from Tim Cox Jr. For Browns Ford, Austin Riska led the way as he has all season with 24 points. Jamal Williams had an impressive outing as well with 18 points, which was on a 6/7 three point shooting performance. Browns Ford looks to need some leadership in order to achieve a victory, and it has been proven from the start that 1 player scoring 25 will NOT be enough to win games in this league! InIt II WinIt vs. Melody Lodge In the final game of the night, an undefeated Melody Lodge team took on a talented InIt II WinIt team. It was clear from the tip that InIt had no thoughts of giving up as they battled, dove for loose balls, and never gave up. This allowed them to hang around for most of the first half before huge 17-0 run by Melody to start the second half. Melody was led by former European Professional Evan Lane with 40 points and Ed Palmateer with a 19 point outing. For the losing side, the combination of Paul Fox (25) and Dillin Veeder (26) combined for 51 points but it just wasnt enough as interior defense proved to be a problem from the opening tip, as Lane had his way.
