Harley Seago, my much loved and very spoiled dapple Doxie, crossed - TopicsExpress

Harley Seago, my much loved and very spoiled dapple Doxie, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge today, joining his brothers Pacey and Jackson. He fought bravely and never complained, but unfortunately not even his Dachshund stubbornness could overcome the back injury and subsequent worsening paralysis. He is running free now, no longer hindered by pain or illness. We will miss him so much. He has been such an integral part of our lives, always close by for a pat on the head, looking for a treat or a scratch behind the ears. He was my friend, my confidant, my bestest boy, my own Harley Barley. So many of you have reached out with your kind words and prayers. Thank you so much for thinking of us. Please know that it has meant so much to me to hear from each of you. If I havent had the time to acknowledge your comments, please know how much they have helped me during this very hard time. I would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Baxley and the Madison Veterinary Clinic for helping us so quickly in an emergency. I can always count on them to be there whenever I need them, no matter the hour or the reason. And in the end, they were there for us. I wanted Harley to go where he was known and loved by so many. And of course, Dr. Drygas at Capital Veterinary Specialists who performed Harleys surgery. Although we didnt get the outcome we were hoping for, Dr. Drygas was so reassuring and treated Harley as if he had taken care of him his whole life. I felt like we were in the best of hands and I know that Dr. Drygas did everything possible to save Harleys life. His words to me were Ill treat him like hes my very own dog. A very special man. I highly recommend him to anyone needing surgery for their pet, such a kind man. During our recovery time, I was lucky enough to meet some wonderful people, thanks to a fellow doxie lover, Georgia Ann Doxie. Brenda Johnson and Sharon Duncan with The K9 Back Pack have been here with both advice and support, and just the comfort of knowing someone was right there if I needed to talk, cry, or vent. And last but certainly not least, my daughter Katie Roberts and my good friends Chris Moon and Mary Weiler. You three have kept me going with smiles, laughs, jokes, and just knowing you are there.
