Harriet’s one of those dogs who needs a very special person. At only 27 lbs its hard to know if she’s just a pocket pittie or really starved. Not much is known about her history-she was found as a stray. She had long nails so likely she wasn’t out wandering too much—but that begs the question of who got her in this shape. But what is known is that Harriet hates it at Manhattan ACC and has let almost everyone know it. She is defensive, scared, nervous and in her own mind, fighting for her life every minute she’s cooped up in that cage. ACC certainly has no patience to show her that things can be OK and they’ve just gone ahead and put her on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. Tonight, Harriet is really fighting for her life and she has no clue on how to tell anyone that she’s worth saving. Are you the person out there who’s had experience with fear driven dogs? Are you the one who knows how to teach Harriet that there are some humans who do think she’s worth something? Are you the person who can get her eating and feeling better about herself? If you are, step up to foster or adopt Harriet. But do it now—ACC won’t waste a minute taking a second look at this very pretty, scared dog and then she’ll be gone forever.
