Harrison Ford (Story from my Inbox)... He just didn’t drop out of college, he was expelled. His major, like that of many students, was undeclared. He enjoyed taking a couple of acting classes in college, so it seemed like a good idea to head for Hollywood. Except for a few bit parts, he couldn’t really call himself as an actor. So after a few years, with bills to pay and children to raise, he learned carpentry skills and made his living as a Hollywood handyman, building everything from book-cases to sundecks. When George Lucas was casting Star Wars, he ran into the unemployed actor, who was nailing boards at Goldwyn Studios in Hollywood. He remembered him from an earlier movie they had done together and asked him to act as a stand-in-while other actors ran through their lines. The stand-in however turned out to be a lot more impressive than to other guys trying out for the part. He was given the role of Hans Solo, and Harrison Ford went on to become a major film star. Does Ford give credit to every setback along the way to that first big role as a step toward finally reaching his dream? Absolutely!
