Harry Sherlock 0 23 Oct 2014 00:16:00 The Italy international exchanged jerseys with Real Madrid defender Pepe at half-time with the score at 3-0 and was subsequently substituted at the interval for Adam Lallana Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists that he will deal with Mario Balotellis half-time shirt swap with Pepe internally after Liverpools 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League. The Italian gave his jersey to the defender as they entered the tunnel at the end of the first half, and failed to emerge for the second period, with Adam Lallana taking his place. Rodgers insists that the substitution itself was purely tactical but, speaking post-match, he expressed his dismay at Balotellis actions and vowed to investigate. He said: Thats the first Ive heard (about Balotelli swapping his shirt) and I wouldnt like it either. It shouldnt happen and if thats the case, Ill deal with it. Its not something I stand for and its something I deal with internally. Its something that I dont like to see. Ive seen it happen in other leagues and in other countries but its certainly something that doesnt happen here and shouldnt happen. We had an incident here with a player which I dealt with and if thats the case then Ill deal with that as well. Rodgers also praised Lallanas impact, with the midfielder continuing to impress following his summer move from Southampton. I thought we needed more movement centrally, I thought Raheem [Sterling] could give us that, and Adam came on and did very well, he said. In fairness to Raheem he was playing in a position alien to him but he worked hard and did what could be asked of him.
