Harvest Kitchen is proud to support Chef Ned Bell and his Journey Across Canada in Support of Sustainable Seafood! Ned Bell is Head Chef of Yew Restaurant and the Four Seasons Vancouver. He is also the founder of Chefs for Oceans, an organization which hopes to allow all Canadians to have easy and ready access to fresh, sustainable seafood within the next ten year.To further this goal, on July 1 Chef Bell embarked from St. John’s, Newfoundland, on an incredible bike ride across Canada to raise funds and awareness for the Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise Program, SeaChoice and the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society. Also at the forefront of Chef Bells journey is the goal to institute and raise awareness for National Sustainable Seafood Day, a day which spotlights the necessity of healthy oceans, lakes and rivers for the futures of both human beings and the environment. The hope is that as the sustainable seafood movement continues to grow, environmentally responsible procedures will become firmly rooted as standard methods in future generations. For every “Fish of the Day” feature sold, Harvest Kitchen will donate $2.00 to Ned’s Ride and Chefs for Oceans. Come enjoy delicious, fresh, AND sustainable fish at Harvest Kitchen while supporting Ned’s Ride and Chefs for Oceans. A win/ win proposition!
