Has Facebook finally shown a crack in its Armour? Or is it playing the hare in the race? WMA #ThursdayTrends - Facebook growth significantly down, but still holds the throne for the No.1 slot in social networks. Well some can argue that Facebook is losing its shine after being in the game for 10 years, in the last six months, Facebook grew more slowly than all its other major competitors, in terms of active & new members. The problem for Facebook is that some people are losing interest, especially in the US and UK and among the youngsters. While the report states that Facebook’s slow growth and slipping popularity isnt hurting the company’s bottom line.Along with other users, teens haven’t left Facebook, they’re still visiting it and using it, they’re just less positive about it than they used to be. Facebook doesnt need its users to love it as its ad-based revenues are underpinned by the proposition of reaching specific audiences. So, as long as membership and visitation rates remain strong, profits will continue to follow. A report was carried on by the Global Web Index which was based on interviews of a global sample of 40,000 people from 32 countries, revealing that Facebook is by far the social media leader. Excluding China (Facebook is banned), four of five Internet users say they have a Facebook account. SOURCE: marketingland
