Has Your Freedom Of Choice Caused You To Be Lost? Lets see... Luke 15:11-24, To illustrate the point further, Jesus told them this story: A man had two sons. The youngest son told his father, I want my share of your estate now before you die. So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons.. A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living. About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve. He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs. The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything.. When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant... So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. His son said to him, Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am not worthy of being called your son... But his father said to his servants, Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house, and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, for this Son of mine was dead, and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found. So the party began........ Does this story have any resemblance to your life, throughout your week? Mmmm????....... Can I be bold when I say this, JESUS CHRIST IS NOT GOING TO FORCE YOU TO FOLLOW HIM!!!! And, just as the Father in this parable didnt go running after the son, God will not run after you when He sees that you are wanting to love all your worldly idols more than Him!!!!..... And, just as the moment the son CAME BACK TO THE FATHER, the father said, This son of mine WAS dead, and now he has RETURNED to life. He WAS lost, but NOW he is found...... We MUST WAKE UP to the fact that we can walk away from our free gift of salvation! We MUST WAKE UP to the fact that its our freedom of choice that has become the biggest reason that has caused 95% of all church-goers to become lost, without them realizing it!!!!! Can I tell you the definition of Being lost? Being lost, means that your lifestyle is being lived throughout your week without Jesus Christ anywhere of being seen or heard of!!!.... Well, as you reflect on your lifestyle, as of today, do you think that there is a chance that you have become lost, because your love for your worldly idols and your freedom of choice have pushed Jesus Christ to the wayside?.... The reason this piece of Scripture hits home with me so powerfully, is because, I can hear God saying so calmly, Do you love me, or do you love the world?..... I choose today, to love Jesus Christ more than this world! And I am asking Father God and his Power, the Holy Spirit, to help me love the Son of God, Jesus Christ, more than my idols of this world, tomorrow!!!!! This is the relationship that Father God so desperately desires from His children!!! But most have turned away to their own ways!!!....... What does your freedom of choice reflect who, or what, you are worshiping as God, today?...... Well, Let me hear your answers.......
