Has anybody been caught up in the Unwired modem update saga? After wandering down to Kadavu house last Saturday to upgrade my modem to the new 4G experience, I now find the following in comparison to the Vodafone 4G modem: 1. Speed - maximum (throttled?) to 8Gb/sec vs Vodafones max of 48Gb/sec 2. Repeated emails telling me to upgrade when I already have last week. In other words, customer service and billing have not linked up. 3. Supposed old $10 plan of unlimited use between 1am and 7am suddenly cut off with no throughput during those hours. What happened to my $10 payment? 4. Despite being given 1Gb for upgrading the modem suddenly all my data has been used despite the modem saying only 9Gb being used and at time of upgrading I had 18Gb on hand. 5. Customer service on the phone- same boring repeated advertising message for 15 minutes on hold that puts you off Digicell for life 6. Previous Unwired self-care page no longer works. Now apparently you have to log into your new modem and then send a text to 130 to find out how much data you have used because Unwired has rolled out the modem in front of the billing and customer self service centre. None of this was explained when getting the new super-dooper modem. Conclusion: Yes, Vodafone has a much faster, smarter, easier to use and much smaller, portable modem than the new and improved Unwired offering I would be interested to hear of others experience on this
