Has anyone done any work on the alarming degree of influence Frank - TopicsExpress

Has anyone done any work on the alarming degree of influence Frank Oz has had on our moral psychology? Yoda AND Cookie Monster? Isnt that really Gen-Xs primary Superego/Id dialectic? Throw in Bert or Grover as the Ego/Comic duo straight man, and I wager theres a surprisingly comprehensive psychological programme to be evaluated there. It struck me over morning coffee today that his is a voice that absolutely shaped the lives of people who grew up in the quaint old age of television. He is the voice of the part of us that tries to keep a lid on it (Sam the *American* Eagle) and the voice of gut-level rock n roll let off the chain (Animal). The voice of dreams pursued doggedly despite what an outside observer *might* describe as insufficient talent (Fozzie Bear, anyone? Dare I say...Miss Piggy?), and of course he is the voice of our ultimate modern sage and patron saint of green-skinned, diminutive graceful-agers. Name another personality who has had such a profound influence on both Educational Television *and* Death Metal. I dare you. Thats one set of lungs, vocal folds, and resonators that has said an awful lot for us. A uniquely produced, individual voice that has been, I think, subtly and powerfully the voice of a generation. And now, some of his signature vocals have become daily expressions in the online epoch. Honestly, how would the internet express appreciation at all without Om Nom Nom, and who would ever know how to sign an email with a bit of light wisdom if we didnt have Do or do not. There is no try? Voice teachers: maybe were wrong; maybe tongue tension and false vocal fold hyperfunction arent flaws to be worked out. They seem to have been an impressive source of revenue and an effective pulpit. Also, I have heard a few professional countertenors who dont sing as well as Miss Piggy. Just sayin ....
