Has anyone else been dyeing the 19.5 micron superwash Merino - TopicsExpress

Has anyone else been dyeing the 19.5 micron superwash Merino roving from Ashland Bay? I spent 5 hours this afternoon dyeing 4 ounce bumps, and Ive NEVER encountered anything be so difficult in getting it to absorb the dye when you are first putting it on. The other fibers Ive worked with just wicks it right up, but this stuff has to practically be drowned in dye before it soaks it in. Ive been dyeing roving for 5 years, including other superwash (mostly BFL when Im teaching classes), and I was really frustrated with this stuff!!
