Has anyone ever dealt with an unpredictable aggressive dog? I have a dog that I adopted a little over eight months ago. He is my baby, I couldnt be more in love with a dog but he is extremely temperamental. It happens in the blink of an eye and anything can set it off. I have dealt with this since I first got him but it seems to be getting even worse. I have taken away his bones and toys now because if anyone gets near them that can send him into a rage. I have three small children and I keep them Away from him as much as possible and when they are around him I make sure they are under extreme supervision. I am just not sure what to do at this point. For the safety of my children I cannot keep him if things dont change. Heres a little about him.. He came from a shelter as a stray, he is about six years old, he goes through what seem to be mood swings, he growls at everyone (including me), he has started actually snapping, he did get into a dog fight and that is when I noticed things getting even worse, he has EXTREME anxiety when I leave him (he has eaten through my fence as well as crates and doors) he can be wonderful and sweet but then it is like something inside of him snaps.. I cannot see him going to another home and I am desperate for advice. I feel as though I have tried everything in my power to fix this.
