Has anyone ever seen the movie Grand Budapest Hotel? It exemplifies your sentiments regarding the aged dilemma of preservation verses stagnation. Sadly, when we allow these enchanted old ruins to remain unchanged, the world continues to surreptitiously move forward, like it or not. As is evidenced by localities such as West Mifflin, resistance to change and progress leads to decay and subsequent disenchantment. While we as a human race are programmed to loath the inevitable, we must bear in mind and relish the kaleidoscope of memories that our beautiful, changing world is constantly producing.
