Has everyone seen the video of Brian Sampson, the office supervisor for San Bernardino city shelter being extremely rude and unprofessional to a potential adopter and public citizen? I was escorted out to the parking lot by a San Bernardino police office and asked to leave the shelter on Saturday, because I shot this video. The officer stated that because I was speaking over them while I shot the video, I was interfering with city business. Brian Sampson wanted me ARRESTED! Both officers were very courteous, something I have not experienced with the San Bernardino police department the last few times I have had the police called on me. Officer Zeigler told Brian Sampson that this was not an arrestable offense. He asked me to leave the shelter for the remainder of the business day and return next Saturday. I am contacting an attorney tomorrow. I have been repeatedly harassed. They have sent San Bernardino police officers to my home in Riverside attempting to intimidate me. How many times do they have to illegally eject me from a public facility before I have had enough and fight back? IM DONE fighting without back-up. I have the right to be there to photograph the animals, to video sick and neglected dogs, to video violations of the law and to capture a government employees interaction with a potential adopter. I was exercising my First Amendment right to free speech as I shot that video. By the time I starting speaking, Brian Sampson was already done. He had no intentions of dealing with the potential adopter. What city business did I interfere with? The attorney I will be contacting has worked very hard in the past to ensure the Civil Rights of animal activists are not violated. I did not begin visiting the San Bernardino city shelter to become an animal activists. But how could I not speak up for them when I witness first hand the abuse and neglect? I want to be able to go to the shelter just once, and not be harassed by the management or have the police called on me. I am there for a very specific reason. To photograph and video the animals to network them to adopters and rescues. If I come across something that needs to be exposed...Im going to document it and share it as well. I know I am not alone. You have all been right here with me during this fight. I cannot express just how much it means to me. I need you guys again. I need their inboxs to be full tomorrow morning. Whether it be complaints regarding your own bad experience dealing with Brian Sampson. It could be that you are appalled that they employee such a negative, unprofessional person. Or how about a photo of an animal that you personally adopted or rescued after seeing a photo or video I posted. When I was told I had to leave, I dropped to the ground on tears and begged officer Zeigler to allow me back inside. I told him there were so many dogs I had not met yet. I feel like I let so many people and dogs down as I drove away. I was actually on my way to my car to get my phone charger when the incident began. I could have kept walking...but I chose to document the #1 problem currently at this shelter. Brian Sampson!!! Please send an email tonight.
