Has seen Machete Kills. Robert Rodriguez, he never makes great - TopicsExpress

Has seen Machete Kills. Robert Rodriguez, he never makes great films really but theyre still fun to watch and I think Machete Kills is a prime example of that. Its incredibly silly and over-the-top but its still fun to watch and you cant take it seriously, you just have to take it as a bit of entertainment. Its miles better than its predecessor, Machete 1 (which was awful). This is a lot better, its more fun to watch and less cringe-worthy. I like the way he pokes fun in his own way at America (Charlie Sheen as the president being the main example). The action scenes are fun to watch and really some of it is rather hilarious (my favourite being him spinning around on a heli-copter with a knife decapitating men). The only things I would say for negatives is that he does copy from some of his previous films, those being the crotch gun from From dusk till dawn and a bunch of women all wanting to kill men (much like the vampire women in From dusk till dawn again). Also, Lady Gaga appears and she is un-suprisingly awful. I hate her so much and when she came on screen I watched to punch the screen, such a bad choice! Overall: 6.5/10= A little bit lower than I would have rated it (6.7) because some of the dialogue is a bit weak. Other than that and some of the other negatives I pointed out it still hits on most of what the first one never did!
