Hassan and Ibrahim Ali bring shame to Islam Two Malay rights - TopicsExpress

Hassan and Ibrahim Ali bring shame to Islam Two Malay rights groups in Malaysia have acted as though the world is created only for them. They are in fact a bane to what true Islam is about: Muslims being in peace and having goodwill with the rest of Mankind. Unless Hassan Ali of Jati and Ibrahim Ali of Perkasa are saying that they represent who a true Muslim is, what they are doing is in fact is bringing shame to the religion that they purportedly uphold. The prophet Mohamad welcomed the Christians (although in my opinion, they were nominal Christians) in their midst and told them, “Your Allah and our Allah is the same, let’s not fight over it.” The Malaysiangovernment invited the Vatican representative to Malaysia for barely more than a week. Being a representative from the Vatican city, and an envoy to this country, Archbishop Joseph Marino has every right to make his voice heard and support the stand made by the Catholic Church. In fact, this is not only his own views, but the views of the rest of the world, but some leaders are showing the world that they cannot live peacefully with their neighbours. It is only in Malaysia that people in the likes of Hasan Ali and Ibrahim Ali who are telling people to leave Malaysia if they defend the use of the name Allah in their religions. In the first place, the name Allah is universal. Even before the advent of Islam, the Arabs were already using the name Allah. Hasan Ali and Ibrahim Ali are born in Malaysia, so are we! Like all of us, they are nothing but fellow citizens of this country. Unless they want to behave like Ahmad Zahid Hamidi of Umno Baru, who asked 51% of the people to migrate, they should be good neighbours instead becoming further alienated in the midst of an evolving generation of Malaysians. Both Hasan and Ibrahim should realise that Christians in Indonesia and other Arab nations have been using the name Allah for centuries, including the days of the prophet. If not, why did Prophet Mohamad say, “Your Allah and our Allah….” Why did he not say, “Your God and our Allah”? If the Muslim community in Malaysia continues to walk and talk like how these two leaders of their own organisations, it will create further polarisation which is unhealthy for a country whose constitution promises freedom for non-Muslims to practice their own religions. It is this kind of behaviour, mimicking Mahathir Mohamad that made the Chinese community fed up with his brand of Umno Baru, to the point that they are willing to abandon Barisan Nasional to support PAS and Pakatan Rakyat.
