Hats off to Arizona. They knew a win would make their season and they went out and got it. Now for some lessons from todays Oregon game. 1) Do not pooh pooh the possibility of playing in the Rose Bowl...EVER. A couple players acted like they didnt care for that chance, and played like it today. 2) When you have chances to score, you MUST take advantage. Even a team like the Ducks that can frequently zip down field has to cash in. Style points dont cut it. If you get down to the five and dont score, it counts as much as if you go three and out from the 50. 3) When you make a bad play, you must be prepared to handle the adversity. Unlike Oregon teams in recent years, if they take a hit, they let it snowball for awhile. All that said, Oregon still has some things to play for. If they win next week, theyve locked up a sixth consecutive season of 10 or more victories. Follow that up with a Bowl win, and they can claim a fourth consecutive top ten finish. But for that to occur, theyre going to have to show a lot more than they did today. Do these guys have any pride left to salvage the remainder of this season? Or are they going to be the first team since 2006 to be seen as high-flyers that couldnt get it done at all down the stretch? Were about to find out.
