Haughton Green Road, c.1910. View looking towards Two Trees Lane and Mill Lane from outside the Old Dog public house (licensee in 1911, John Axon), which is off the picture to the right. The building on the left by the gas lamp is the Conservative Club and a tram is just visible in the distance. The children on the right are taking meals to their families working at Gibraltar Mill at the bottom of Gibraltar Lane on the far side of the river Tame. 2.View looking towards Two Trees Lane and Mill Lane. The building on the left by the gas lamp is the Conservative Club and almost opposite, on the right, the front of Manor Farm can just be seen. 3.View looking towards Tommy Dodd and St Marys Church with the Bay Horse public house on the right. The viewpoint is the corner of Henry Street and the railings on the left are at the front of Haughton Green Primitive Methodist Church. 4.Viewed from Tommy Dodd, Haughton Green, near the lychgate of St Marys Church. King Pit Cottages, built in 1793, are on the left and between them and the next row of cottages was once the entrance to King Pit and King Pit Farm. The single-storey white building at the far end is the Cricketers’ Arms public house. The tall chimney belonged to the Nibble and Clink Pit and it was demolished in 1923. The pit stood behind the Bay Horse public house, which is partly visible on the right.
