Have Your Say on the proposed Riccarton Passenger - TopicsExpress

Have Your Say on the proposed Riccarton Passenger Lounge Christchurch City Council are looking at providing improved passenger facilities in Riccarton, with support from Environment Canterbury. This is part of the on-going development and recovery of the Metro public transport system. The council have identified a potential opportunity to lease an existing retail space for a new passenger lounge on the southern side of Riccarton Road, between Division Street and Rotherham Street. The Council have signed a temporary lease on the building until the end of this year, to give them time to ask the public for their views. They would like to hear what your organisation thinks about the idea of providing a passenger lounge in this location, and what you would like it to look like if it goes ahead. Find out more about the proposed Riccarton Passenger Lounge or completing the online survey. The online information includes introductory videos, draft designs and Frequently Asked Questions. Public consultation runs from Friday 25th October until Friday 8th November 2013. After the consultation, a report will be presented to the Riccarton Wigram Community Board with an amended proposal. This will then be presented to the Council in December for a final decision about whether to proceed with the proposal. If the Council agrees to lease the proposed site, staff will prepare a detailed design in early 2014. It is likely that the council will conduct further consultation at that time to test the designs before they are finalised and the Council would welcome further input.
