Have a Bleesed Sunday! Good Morning! :) Acts 13:44-47 On the next Sabbath almost the whole city assembled together to hear the word of the Lord. But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy, and they began to contradict what Paul was saying by reviling him. Both Paul and Barnabas replied courageously, “It was necessary to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we are turning to the Gentiles. For this is what the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have appointed you to be a light for the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’” After previously preaching in the synagogue and being invited back - the entire city shows up to hear the gospel. Talk about God doing something amazing. However, jealousy gets the better of the Jews, and they start to battle with Paul and Barnabas about what is being preached. Notice how Paul and Barnabas respond: “Since you reject it (the word of God) and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we are turning to the Gentiles.” God’s in the business of offering salvation to “the ends of the earth” – but not all will truly hear the word and believe. It is not for us to judge our own worth in God’s sight. That right – as it has always been – belongs to God. He loves you. He has declared you worthy by GRACE through FAITH in Christ Jesus.
