Have a long night ahead of me tonight. One of my BOD boarder found - TopicsExpress

Have a long night ahead of me tonight. One of my BOD boarder found a kitten knocking on deaths door this afternoon late. The condition of this kitten would bring tears to the hardest of people. A tiny tiger stripped with crusted mucus over 1/4 inch sealing the eyes and covering the nose leaving the baby to barely breathe through the mouth. I got he call for help and got there to make an assessment. Extreme emaciation, conjunctivitis and possible pneumonia. Both eyes severely affected due to the conjunctivitis. MY BOD member had began the cleaning up process, Got medical treatment for this baby and we are six hours into this rescue. The baby, now named Tigger, is breathing very well, the mucus was thick yellow, not green but is now just a thin mucus and just a slight yellow in color. Tigger ate canned kitten food and has a firm tummy now. Antibiotic eye ointment was administered in addition to the standard antibiotics. Supplements to give that extra boost was given one hour apart. If we can make 24 hours, I think we have a shot at saving little Tigger. My main concern is the eyes at this time. Conjunctivitis can be so destructive to the eyes. I will stay up all night to watch over Tigger and monitor this little baby for any unexpected emergencies. Have pictures up of the new babies at kittysgonegreen on the Critter Folks page. Also have update pictures of the cleft palate kids, Tillie and Tevyn, on their first day outside. They will be 1 year old at the end of this month and they have the opportunity to be a real kitty outside and chasing the butterflies! Two kittys who would otherwise have been euthanized are now great fun to watch and have as companions.
