Have a nice week FB friends... With the wonderful flute of Bud Shank from an extra rare vinyl lp (luckily re-issued by Mosaic records on Shanks complete Pacific Jazz seeions). That lp was an original soundtrack for the unique (and first as far as I know to score films only for surfing) Bobby Browns film Slippery When Wet....(what a title...)In the mid of February 1958 and on a budget of $5,000, Brown flew to Hawaii with a 16mm camera, 50 rolls of film, and five surfers. There he learned how to make the first professional surfing documentary, Slippery When Wet. Along with priceless vintage surf footage from Oahu, Slippery When Wet features an original wonderful score from West Coast Jazz scene star Bud Shank. Along with Billy Bean (guitar),Gary Peacock (bass) and Chuck Flores (drums) Bud Shank recorded in World Pacific studio ,L.A. on ,April 18,1959, this small masterpiece suitable for waves...
