Have any of the designers in this group ever been interested in what I notice about the GM automobiles of the William Mitchell era, specifically speaking, in the way the windshield design so frequently got so much attention, and often turned out so beautifully and originally? I post this picture of a 1970 Chevrolet Camaro because it is a prime example of this phenomenon, IMO. Whereas other carmakers seemed to shape and place the windshield in an almost offhand manner, look at this car. The glass is shaped like no other cars before or since, with a graceful and delicate curvature that has a slight wraparound at the base, but not enough to make it look dated. The upper corners are totally different from other cars, with a nice radius to them when other cars were just squared off. The most interesting thing about them is the way the A-pillar is so deceptively vertical, yet looks to the eye like it is swept, sleekly, backwards. I love Mitchells era at GM so much. The company trusted his judgement, and the result was many very attractive, even beautiful, automobiles of every size and type. :-)
