Have had one of the worst weeks ever. Drove the truck to work and packed a rifle and some chucking gear and went out to walk off my frustrations. Forgot my rangefinder, so I borrowed the bosses Bushnell Elite 1500 ARC. Did about 2.5 miles walking. Spotted 2 chucks. First one I tried ranging and finally got mad and guessed him at 300yds. The Elite wouldnt pick up a 12 tree trunk at that distance or the bushy tops. I dialed him up, put it on the shoulder and saw him cartwheel out of the scope followed by the meat report. Packed up my gear and walked toward him pacing it off. When I get to the 250 mark, I spot another chuck 90 degrees to me on a rock over his hole. I got on my knees and put the 243 in the shooting sticks and pop up over the rise and make a quick shot at 98yds(the damn range finder worked there). Walked up to the spot and lung and blood everywhere with a bloody skid mark right down the hole where he fell. Doubt hell walk that one off, LOL. Went back to where I dropped my pack and kept pacing and found the first one at 346 paces. Im guess he was probably close to 325yds due to me shooting a 300yd dope down hill and hitting POA. Lesson learned, dont forget the range finder.
