Have just been to the town and popped into Barkes(?) the bakers in the Ladygate. Two Danish and a very small cheesecake later (not eaten yet so cant comment on them), I have to say that the ladies in there were very straight faced and looked quite fierce. On speaking to the lady who served me I found her very pleasant and they all smiled when I mentioned the steamed up window. I think these ladies are just very busy and concentrating, so give them a break, smile at them and you will be rewarded with a smile back and a nice cake into the bargain. That is all lol
