Have to give an update on previous posts I made regarding my grandsons denial of a program my daughter requested he be placed in due to his special needs/educational requirements. His school psychologist denied him an IEP despite his teachers recommendation. This decision was based on one womans observations and her deciding my grandson is fine with no help. Those of us who know whats going on, including his teacher and my daughter have been in disbelief and - well, pissed! After getting a call from the school Vice Principal the next day to schedule a meeting to finalize the other route chosen, my daughter voiced her feelings to the VP and barred the psychologist from any other dealings with my grandson, including meetings. When she met with the Vice Principal, she expressed complete shock at the findings and gave my daughter her support in pressing on with the IEP request. Thank you, Charles County, for continuing to hire great teachers and administrators with common sense!
