Have to say, this band has stolen my heart. From Sheffield, Britain, introducing DESERT MOTEL CLUB. The band is anything but your boring, run of the mill, play-by-the-numbers stoner rock band. Alice Davis has a strong set of pipes and uses them to great effect, with character and poise. Jake Davidson contributes vocals, as well, but his greatest contribution is with those oh-so-fuzzy riffs (his tone is quite stellar). Samuel Nelson (bass) and Joe Johnson (drums) are always on point, providing assertive rhythmic underpinnings that keeps songs like Sledgehammer sailing along. You should know that Desert Motel Club has a newer single, but I really liked this son (maybe it was because Alice stole my heart--sigh, I fall in love way too easily!). If you, too, like what you see and hear, look for their new EP Kotchin with Satan (2015) and the music video for its first single, Black Hymns. No Bandcamp page (yet) for this outfit, though I cant imagine this will be the case once their EP is formally released.
