Have to take an opportunity to happily brag about a good friend. I was at a mentor session at George Mason University the other day, and one of the students asked me about the best teacher I ever had; after telling him I asked him the same question. He explained that his high school English teacher, Marc Cascio, encouraged, challenged and inspired him. The same Marc Ive known since we were pups, with whom I shared a too-small student apartment at GMU, and with whom I just had drinks last night. The same dude Ive always admired and with good reason: this isnt the first time Ive heard or seen his hard work recognized. It gives me hope when our most important profession is rightly celebrated, and it needs to happen a LOT more often. Thank you, Marc, for giving back and making a genuine, tangible difference in impressionable students lives!
