Have we taught our children and grandchildren the real cost of this holiday. This is a weekend for remembrance and the cost of that freedom, not burgers and beer. This cost came at a high price. It can be found by patriots at Bunker Hill, the blood soaked fields of Gettysburg, tripoli, the rough riders at san juan hill, Belleau Wood and Amiens, Pearl Harbor, batan death march, schweinfurt/ Regensburg/munster, berlin, 100th Bomb Group & 8th Air Force, Kessering pass, Anzio, Omaha Beach, Bastogne, Midway, Coral Sea, Guadalcanal, Saipan, Tarawa, iwo, Okinawa, inchon, Pusan perimeter, Tet Offensive , khe sanh, operation linebacker, operation rolling thunder, Iran desert, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama , desert storm, 9/11, the war on terror, Iraq, Afghanistan....and our men and woman serving today. Our Freedom did not come cheap it is paid for in the blood of those who protect us every day. Today we honor those who paid that ultimate price, a sincere THANK YOU from a grateful American!
