Have you all ever paid for the Meetup for VegCF or Animal - TopicsExpress

Have you all ever paid for the Meetup for VegCF or Animal Activists of Central FL?? This seems like a new thing as of today. See image attached/screen shot. Was trying to RSVP for their upcoming event -- I am actually out of town and cant attend, but would like to stay in the loop with what activism they are doing this day with this new event. ***** Example -- when you start a meetup -- you can choose to pay for half a year, or a full year. When I JUST started the meetup the other day Vegans and Animal Activists of Central FL : meetup/Vegans-and-Animal-Activists-CF/ -- I decided to be crazy, and pay the under $180 or so bucks out of my own pocket for a YEAR meetup page/group. (Because I wanted us to start doing more, and we need a better platform in general. -- and, with this, we can now create 2 more free groups with this payment plan/one time payment now.) When you CREATE a meetup -- you can decide to either charge members/folks who sign up -- or charge folks PER EVENT. Say when we have a potluck at a pavilion in the near future -- when you set up the event, you can decide to charge folks who are attending, to help pay for the venue/off-set the costs. *Some parks in Orlando charge $80 and UP per example to use a covered space. ****** That said, Im still wondering where the Potluck money goes with VegCF -- perhaps they use this money to help pay for their meetups.. or to donate to the janitors at the church -- since I have a convo saved between Larry and I that states the actual church space -- is free. (Which is AWESOME of the Unitarian church to donate a FREE space to animal lovers!) Anyways -- are you all attending this new event of theirs, and have you paid yet to attend? What is the money for... perhaps to help off-set the fees for the speaker or the free vegan food that they will have on-site? *IS this money for the entire meet-up membership.. or FOR this event?? *2,000++ members + anyone donating x amount (and no tally of the totals of money made)... can add up to a LOT of money real quick I would imagine...
