Have you all waited long enough? ;) Sorry, but what a busy, emotional, wonderful day! The Vet was great, she really checked Tullys pain tolerance, Range Of Motion, even did an..Ahem...internal exam to check the rotation of his hips. Yes, he was just thrilled. The news is that he has moderate Hip Dysplasia on the right side, and mild on the left, but no luxation...which means the leg bones are still in the socket. There is some arthritis, but he DOES NOT NEED SURGERY AT THIS TIME!! Can I get a WOOT?! We laughed, we cried, we were so grateful and thankful to see him get such great care and to get such wonderful news. :) Yes, hell need surgery someday, but its not today, so well deal with the future when it arrives. He needs to drop about 5 lbs, just to make it easier on his joints. He will be going on a combination of anti-inflammatories and pain pills, along with all the wonderful supplements that Auntie Suzannes been finding and generously providing Tully with. No more playing in the snow, no running until his pain is well controlled, just walking, swimming and lots of love & hugs. Afterwards we spent a bit of time with Suzanne & Princess Wilma...who is looking wonderful by the way! Then, we went on to hug and spend a few minutes with Anna Nielsen, and she is just as beautiful inside and out in person as she is online. Truly a wonderful lady and precious friend. We sat in stop and go construction traffic for 2 1/2 hours on the way home and got to witness an idiot trucker weave in and out of heavy traffic, nearly running a Tanker off the road with his antics. What a jerk! Were exhausted, so its time to turn on NetFlix and tune out the world. Thank you all for caring about our sweet BWD, who behaved very well, besides blowing his entire undercoat all over the exam room...what a mess! We are so grateful for such wonderful friends.
