Have you also noticed? A Facebook page called Virgin Radio Lebanon is one of the most popular in our news feeds recently, and its posts about quotes, memes, and lessons among the most shared. One of the reasons why it gets shared a lot is because they have posts that unapologetically tell how women feel. I notice, in return, girls share it as a passive-aggressive way of letting men know this is their perspective of a situation. (And sometimes, vice versa. But well, not as much. When men shout out about men, they get attacked by fem...) The page belongs to a radio station in Lebanon, a Middle Eastern country near Israel, but why does its fan base include a lot of Filipinos? And shouldnt they promote their station instead? It made me think. What are they up to? Are they building a like base that they can use in the future? Wont they be infringed by (re)posting content that they may not own? But one thing is immediately clear: they seem to do what gave rise to 9GAG: the sharing of stories about pop culture.
