Have you been following our Aussie Athletes at the Taekwondo World Championships? We are already rolling over into Day 3 of the competition! Here are the results to date: DAY 1: Olympian Safwan Khalil -58kg Round 1: Bye Round 2: Defeated by Chinese Taipei in Golden Point Safwan scored with a solid 4 point spinning hook kick in the 2nd round, only to have the points taken off as Taipei protested. After the match the head of referees agreed the kick contacted however, it was a human error by the referee. DAY 2: Tom Afonczenko - Round 1: Won against Tajikistan 10-5 Round 2: Defeated by USA 10-3 In the third round Tom landed a head kick which would have made the score 5-7 and a closer match! Unfortunately the refereeing did not award the points! Jasmin Branca -46kg Round 1: Defeated by Cuba 9-5 Jack Marton - Round 1: Won against Chinese Taipei 3-2 Round 2: Won against France 7-0 Round 3: Defeated by Russia 4-1 Great effort by all athletes!
