Have you checked if Edhi application was part of the candidates ? Its the prize giver decides who will get it and not the receiving end. This year there were 278 candidates for Nobel and Malala was candidate last year as well when Obama got it. The prize is being used to put pressure on the ones who can contribute or being used as encouraging factor for the ones who MAY contribute. Malala falls into 2nd category while Obama in the first. I hv listened to committee members and they say that we do not give a magic stick that all problems will be solved. Remember its based on 1 year performance as Nobel is given every year and Malala has been dominating in media/UN. Edhi contribution is impressive but unfortunately known in Pakistan only and needs to be advertised properly so that world shall know about that...They shall have a media group, get donations from all over the world and also open borders for the welfare work in order to get attention. Based on my poor understanding on Edhi,s thoughts he may not show interest in DUNYAVI rewards... Which is different approach than most of enthusiastic Pakistani youth desires. I would say accept the prize with a smile for a girl and Pakistani media (Many anchor,s mouth are closed until now and they do not know how to react ) shall play +ve advertising role to improve relations of state and get benefits for state. Otherwise we are a nation made of conspiracies,blames on west, asking for donations and not working ourselves. I would consider it an opportunity for the Govt of Pakistan.
