Have you ever ask the question “why”? Its important to ask, - TopicsExpress

Have you ever ask the question “why”? Its important to ask, because there is a lesson in every trial. Why did God allow Johns stroke to happen. We know God did not do this to John, but he did allow it...but why? I wont get into the specifics of Johns reasons other than to say we both were pressing into God more than ever before asking him for new wine. The bible is clear that to receive new wine you must have a new wine skin. God allowed this trial to position us to receive our new wine skin. If we choose to learn what is necessary we will be able to carry this new wine. We all have a destiny and calling that is important in the Kingdom of God. Johns journey has been amazing, challenging, and inspiring. What I have realized over the past few weeks is that here in the hospital Johns body has been receiving rehabilitation. However, John is not just a body, he is soul and spirit. The stroke effected his body and his soul (mind, will, and emotions). Therapy for his soul has not been addressed. I am so grateful for our pastor, Jim Cucuzza and his wonderful wife Justine, who is a psychiatric nurse practitioner. They began working with John and me and our first session was great. I look forward to sharing more in this area as well. Speaking takes a lot of intricate muscles cooperating with each other to form words. You will see in this video Johns progression from being mute to eventually making sounds and now to forming words. He has worked very hard. It wears him out and he has found shrugging for “yes” is easier. We wont let him get away with this lol. You will also notice his attention span is being challenged. I have nicknamed him “squirrel”. There are many aspects to his recovery. Both John and I have been challenged to stay close to the heart of God. The Holy Spirit is our comforter, and teacher. These past few weeks have reminded me how much I need to cling to Him.
