Have you ever been in real danger, escaped, and felt more alive - TopicsExpress

Have you ever been in real danger, escaped, and felt more alive from the experience? If so, tell me your story in the comments. Here’s why I ask… The X-Games are coming to Austin. Ive always been fascinated by the athletes everyone else calls adrenaline junkies. Truth is, many of them aren’t seeking a rush at all. They’re looking for something else, an experience called the “flow state”. That’s what scientists call being in the zone, the state of mind where time disappears, the world slows down, awareness is hyper-sharp, and everything goes silent. And the best test subjects for flow studies? Extreme athletes, because if they don’t operate in a state of “flow” they’ll probably die. To excel in the moment, science is discovering, athletes who live on the edge must learn to shut off their minds and follow their intuition. Maybe the way to be more alive in the moment is to think less, not more. Maybe we have to learn to hack our minds. For fun… Want to experience a ride-along with an extreme athlete with none of the risk? Here’s a 1 min 45 sec video that I love of a mountain biker literally on the edge. Enjoy. youtube/watch?v=x76VEPXYaI0&list=TLxpF2z1f21As9HDGX1gV3uVwsDWP4piNO
